The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Concert Band is on the final stages of a plan to embark on a tour to perform for audiences outside Zamboanga City. The first will be a two-day engagement in September at Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU).
Office of Student Affairs Director Francis Jay Llenado said the 46-member band is awaiting the go-ahead of ADDU President Fr. Antonio S. Samson, SJ for the finalization of the concert.
The ADZU concert band performs under the baton of Maestro Apolonio Enriquez.
The Band’s concert tour has been a much awaited venture as ADZU’s pride wowed the crowd during Fr. Antonio Moreno’s installation as ADZU President. Among the visitors were the presidents of the other Ateneo schools who expressed interest in having the band perform in their schools.
Llenado also bared a similar gig for the ADZU concert band is in the works by November, this time at Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro
Joji Turno from the High School Department assists Enriquez in managing the band.
