AdZU College Outreach Program, SOM, CON, and CCES conduct Medical Mission in Patikul Sulu

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University College Outreach Program, with the participation of the School of Medicine, College of Nursing, and the Center for Community Extension and Services, conducted a medical mission at Patikul Municipality, Sulu Province on March 1-2, 2013 at Brgy. Taglibi and Brgy.Bunbun respectively. This was in coordination with the Marine Battalion Landing Team 11, of which LtCol Gregorio B Hernandez Jr is the Commanding Officer. The medical mission was also participated by the Integrated Provincial Health Office of Suluand the Philippine Army stationed at Jolo, Sulu who sent their surgical team. The Philippine Marine Dental unit also provided assistance.

A total of 1473 patients were examined and received a complete dose of medications. The table above is a summary of the medical mission conducted in Patikul. We would like to thank Dr. Orlando Faber for providing the free eyeglasses to the patients. This is one of the best medical missions accordingly because an EENT Doctor was present.
The ADZU medical mission team was composed of people from CCES, headed by the Director Loreta R. Sta. Teresa with Al-Fatima M. Ahiyal, Mark Vicente Candido and Ruth Guerero from the Social Development Council. The College of Nursing was headed by the Dean Ma. B. Lorna Paber with Concesa B. Gayo, Aaron A. Mendoza, Alexander A. Jumawan, Catheleen Marie G. Carpio, Kimmel B. Ishmael, Darwina I. Halbi, and Dr. Orlando Paber. Most importantly, the newbies from the School of Medicine with their team leader Dr. Abdul Javar D. Esturco together with Dr. Ivan Burke M. Tan, Dr. Marichelle H. Valeros, Dr. Ali Y. Sarahadil, Dr. Julipar T. Amaraja and Dr. Dendrazier K. Marah were also present in the Medical Mission.
