The third in a row, Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s College of Nursing once again lands a spot in the country’s list of top performing schools for the Nursing Licensure Examinations (NLE). In the most recent NLE held June 4 and 5, 2017, AdZU is number 5. The University was Top 7 in 2015 and top 4 in 2016.
The June 2017 NLE results, released on June 16 by the Professional Regulation Commission, showed a passing rate of 80.67 percent (96/119) for AdZU, comprising first-time takers from the batch that graduated March this year. The national passing rate is 34.74 percent, or 3, 882 out of 11,176.
AdZU has also produced two topnotchers this year: Shannon E Boyle who hit the 4th place with a rating of 84.80 percent and Ronel Glen S Garcia, the top 9 with 83.80 percent.
To date, a total of 15 AdZU CON graduates, including Boyle and Garcia, have topped the nursing board exam: three in July 2010, two in June 2013, four in May 2015, and four in June 2016.
In his message to the community, AdZU President Fr Karel S San Juan, SJ congratulated the NLE passers and topnotchers, AdZU CON Dean Lorna Paber, Nursing Review Center Coordinator Julius Lapasaran, and the CON faculty and staff.
