ADZU celebrates Vocation Month 2014

AdZU celebrates Vocation Month 2014

The Campus Ministry Office and the Ateneo de Zamboanga University joined the Archdiocese of Zamboanga in celebrating the Vocation Month on September 2014. The theme for this year’s vocation month was “The Call for Lay Collaboration in Vocation Promotion in the Year of the Laity”.

It was a month of celebration and promotion of vocation to the ADZU students regarding the different areas of vocation – Religious Life, Single Blessedness and Married Life

ADZU hosted different events which included a vocation talk, Prayer Night, lunch with the Jesuits, lunch with the Sisters and vocation sharing.

The speakers for the vocation talk were Fr. Marlito Ocon, SJ; Sr. Remedios O. Urila, OND; Sr. Kathleen Caballero, OSB for Religious Life; Engr. Stevan S. Dimaguila for Married Life; and Ms. Ma. Pilar M. De Guzman; Ms. Elizabeth Solis for single blessedness. The participants were students from RS 113 K, Philo 106 E and D. The performers of the Prayer Night: Let Your Praises be Heard were Fr. Gil Donayre, SJ, Fr. Salvador Wee, SJ, Bro. Carlo LAcang, SJ, Bro. Erick Esteba, SJ, Fr. Wilfredo Samson, SJ, Fr. Albert Alejo, SJ, Sr. Angie Vargara, ADC, Ms. Liza M. Garrido, Ateneo Liturgical Society, Caryl Yvonnie Emperado, Salvie Fronda and Rinaver Ylagan. During the Vocation Sharing the speakers were Bro. Erick Esteba, Ms. Liza Garrido, Mr. Lexter Solamillo, and Sr. Dina Ruste, RMICM

The activities aimed to promote the importance of the different vocations among students and introduce the different religious congregations within the city.
