AdZU CCES and partners distribute Carpentry Tools to Zamboangueño IDPs and IPs

The Center for Community Extension Services gave 100 sets of Carpentry tools to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and Indigenous People Communities at different Transitory/relocation sites and IP Schools in Zamboanga City. CCES was in partnership with Fr. Albert Alejo SJ, CW Home Depot, KAISA PARA SA KAUNLARAN, INC headed by Teresita Ang Sy, Mirali Choy Mendoza Durr of KC-Nation Community Driven Development Program, DSWD and Program on Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihood for this project.

The recipients were IDPs from the conflict affected areas of Arena Blanco, MASEPLA Transitory Site Mampang, Isla Verde & Asinan Talon-talon, Kasangyangan. In addition, CCES communities Sitio Luuuk and Sitio Gitungan Limpapa, Campo Uno Labuan, Montecentral Patalon (West) Sitio Aplaya and Sitio Poso Manicahan, Kapuk and Lamisahan (East) were also given carpentry tools.

The purpose of the program is to give sustainable livelihood to the IP Communities and survivors of the man-made and natural disasters in Zamboanga City that caused damage to life, property and economic capacity. This resulted to unemployment of both adults and the young.

For more information on the project you may contact Bryan S. Callao, Program Officer on Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihood, ADZU-CCES.
