ACLG, DOH-ROIX, and ZFF conduct Mid-Assessment of MLGP Batches 1 and 2

The Ateneo Center for Leadership and Governance (ACLG), in partnership with the Department of Health Regional Office IX (DOH-RO IX) and the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), conducted a mid- assessment of the Municipal Leadership and Governance Program (MLGP) participants for batches 1 and 2 on May 14-17, 2014 at Mibang Hotel, Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte. The activity was attended by a total of 15, out of 20 targeted municipalities, which were headed by their respective Local Chief Executives.

It has been three (3) months since the 20 municipalities finished a 4-day training under the

management of ACLG. At the end of the training, the participating municipalities took home a 6-month action plan to improve the health outcomes in their respective areas of responsibility as a practicum of the first module.

The mid-assessment aimed to assess the participants’ progress in terms of applying the learning and insights gained from the training. This includes gauging the individual Bridging Leadership competencies of each member and the whole health team in general. Some of the activities included sharing of best practices and challenges among the participants which created an opportunity for each group to relate with the shared experiences and get more ideas on innovative ways to address the health challenges in their communities.

The ACLG also gave a workshop on Project Proposal making to further equip the team with skills in acquiring fund sources for their health-related projects. The project proposal outputs of

the municipalities will be collated and will be presented to the next Zamboanga Alliance meeting for possible funding considerations by the different partnering agencies.
