A. Admission Requirements

B. Retention Requirements

C. Transferees and Shiftees (Bachelor of Science in Psychology)
To be admitted to the program, the following requirements are:
* WPA of 1.5
* General Psychology (Psych 101) is 2.0
* Interview with Psychology Department faculty/Dean
D. Special Provisions
- For psychology majors, the subject, General Psychology (Psych 101) should obtain a grade of 2.0 or higher and can ONLY be repeated once. If after repeating, the grade is lower than 2.0, the student will be disqualified from the program.
- To be admitted to the 2nd year and 3rd year, students who are enrolled in the Psychology program should obtain a grade of 1.5 or higher in all of their required and electives courses, except for the 5 unit courses like PSYCH 203, PSYCH 301, and PSYCH 305 where a grade of 1.0 is accepted.
- All required subjects in Psychology which include: PSYCH 201, 302, 303, 309, 310 and 401 with grades lower than 80 (1.5) must be repeated until a grade of 80 (1.5) are obtained. Students can only take these subjects twice (2x). Failure to get a grade of 1.5 on the second attempt will disqualify the student from the program.
- All elective subjects in Psychology which include: PSYCH 308, 307, 313, 204, 314, GUID 100 and HRD 102 with grades lower than 80 (1.5) can be repeated until a grade of 80 (1.5) are obtained.
PREREQUISITES:
- MATH 102 is a prerequisite of PSYCH 203
- PSYCH 101 & PSYCH 203 are prerequisites of ALL required and elective subjects in Psychology
- PSYCH 302 is a prerequisite of PSYCH 305 and PSYCH 303
- PSYCH 301 is a prerequisite of PSYCH 401, PSYCH 309 (Research I) and PSYCH 310 (Research II)
- Students with grades lower than 80 (1.5) in the required subjects are not qualified to graduate. A grade of at least 75 (1.0) in any required or elective subjects in Psychology can be considered passed ONLY if the student is on his/her last term/semester in college with no other subjects still to be enrolled in.
- Students who do not comply with the grade requirements to be admitted to third year will be disqualified from the program.
- Students must comply with the following as a requirement for graduation:
- Thesis defended, 2 hardbound copies submitted
- A student will not be allowed to graduate unless all requirements as stated are complied.
