The Office of Scholarships holds the20th Annual Benefactors-Scholars’ Gathering
The Office of Scholarships held the 20th Annual Benefactors- Scholars’ Gathering Last March 6, 2011 at the Carlos Dominguez Hall. Every school year at about this time, our scholarship benefactors are invited to a gathering to meet with their scholars and university officials.
Present were members of the Board of Directors of the Ateneo College Parents’ Council lead by Ms. Rolinda Carmen Lim, President, representatives from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office [ CHEDRO], IX, headed by Ms. Teresita A. Pinili and Ms. Ms. Majidalyn M. Roldan, Bro. Raymund Belleza, University treasurer. Also in attendance were representatives of private and corporate scholarships like the Vicente B. Bello Scholarship Program, Paul Sim / Dr. Isabel Sim Memorial scholarship Fund, Alfonso Yuchengco Foundation scholarship, AIM Cooperative Scholarship, Jollibee Foods Corp. SEEDS Program, and Menzi Trust Fund Scholarship.
Testimonials were given by Mark Francis T Francisco, ACPC scholar, Ms. Christine Calunod, Alumni scholar, Mr. Kasim I Ibrahim, the father of Sharma, a BSE Millennium scholar.
Ms. Lim, ACPC president, gave the response on the part of the benefactors.
On behalf of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Fr Antonio F Moreno, SJ ,President, in his closing remarks, thanked the benefactors for their continued support to the Ateneo Scholarships Program through the years as well as challenged the graduating scholars to some day “pay it forward”.
