2014 ICT and Job Fair slated on May 1-3

The Zamboanga ICT Council (ZICTC), in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment IX (DOLE IX), our industry partners, Job & Esther Technologies and IdeaSpace, and the different colleges and universities, will be conducting the 2014 ICT and Jobs Fair on 01-03 May 2014 at WMSU grounds and Garden Orchid Hotel, this city.

The event, with its theme, “IT’s Best in Zamboanga”, will feature three (3) mini activities to include the Job Fair, Technology day with Job and Esther Technologies, and Bootcamp day with Ideaspace.

The objective of the fair is to showcase the best of our local talents through idea presentations, seminar workshops, and recruitment from job hunters. A thousand aspirants from the different colleges and universities in the country are expected to participate in the three-day event. Admission is free for the job fair while participants will be charged a minimal fee of P 350.00 for the May 2 – 3 activities.

Job and Esther Technologies is one of the world’s leading companies in developing multi-platform and multi-device solutions. One of the speakers on the Bootcamp day is Mr. Gian Javelona of Orangeapps, known to be the youngest CEO of his own company at the age of 20, will talk about lessons as a young tech startup CEO and will offer tips on building one’s IT Company. Enthusiasts and new entrepreneurs are invited to learn business models that currently drive this new economy. It is an opportunity not to be missed.

This year’s job fair is only one of the many initiatives of the ZICTC. Through these efforts, the Council also aims to bring job opportunities to the city and encourage young graduates to stay in the region. The council also believes that this endeavor will highlight and contribute to showcasing Zamboanga as a prime destination for investments and the development of our local talents.

The Council is a newly created organization on information and communication technology in the city. It is duly organized by the Zamboanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (ZCCIFI) and Regional Information Technology and E-Commerce Committee IX and is now affiliated with the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP).
